The Plastics Indusrty Awards 2003
On Friday 6 June 2003 the third annual Plastics Industry Awards took place. Grandstand's Steve Rider announced the winners to more than 600 plastic professional and guests at the gala dinner held at the London Hilton, Park Lane.
Jim Hay, MD of organiser Emap Maclaren, stated: "The awards have once again been a massive successes, and the night itself is a reflection of this. The Plastics Industry Awards is a vehicle that the industry has truly embraced. Every year the quality of the entrants, finalists, winners and the night itself gets bigger and better. A big thank you needs to go out to all the people who entered and supported the awards, some of whom have been with us from the start. We now have an event that gives this industry a platform from which to shout about all the great things it's doing and that has to be a good thing."
Divide into four main categories - suppliers (voting categories), product, processor and people - the Plastics Industry Awards is the industry's most prestigious awards initiative and sign of excellence, recognising and celebrating achievement throughout the entire scope of the UK plastics industry.
The awards offer an insight into current developments in materials usage, product design and innovative manufacturing. Entries came from all sectors of the industry, highlighting the wide range of novel solutions that exist to manufacturing issues.
The awards were open to all companies involved in the UK plastics industry including OEM manufacturers, processors and consultants to the industry. Each award had different qualifying criteria that had to be met.
